April 1: Jacob Heidenrich of Loras College will speak in Jordan Lecture Hall at 7 p.m. on Friday as part of the Midwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium at Simpson.

April 2: Brigham Young University’s Michael Dorff will speak as part of the Midwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium on Saturday at 9 a.m. in Jordan Lecture Hall.

April 4: Peace activist Tom Cordaro will speak on campus Monday at 7 p.m. in Jordan Lecture Hall.

April 5: Assistant Professor of Philosophy John Bolen will speak as part of Tuesdays with a Professor series. The event will be in Dirlam Lounge at 12:30 p.m. Carolyn Dallinger, associate professor of sociology and winner of the Iowa Professor of the Year award from the Carnegie Foundation, will deliver the annual Watson Lecture. This event will take place at 7 p.m. in Smith Chapel.

Phi Mu Alpha announces All-College Sing is back on

In an email to students on Monday, March 28 from senior Grey Lovelace, Pi Mu Alpha president, the music fraternity announced that All-College Sing is “happening.” The event is now scheduled for Wednesday, April 13 for 7:40 p.m. in Great Hall.

Campus Security Crime Log

March 6: A report was made that between 1 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. that a car parked in the Pi Beta Phi parking lot had a taillight broken on the passenger side. There was Indianola Police Department (IPD) assistance.

March 10: A non-student was arrested at 6:30 a.m. in front of College Hall. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Warren County Jail. According to Chris Frerichs, director of security, Simpson Security called the IPD for assistance.

March 25: The IPD responded to a call in regard to loud music and disturbing the peace and quiet on 901 N. E Street, which resulted in 17 subjects being charged with minor in possession of alcohol. According to the Simpson Security crime log this took place at 10:39 p.m.
