Women’s soccer vs. Loras

by Tyler Crandell

The women’s soccer team lost a tough one to nationally ranked Loras 1-0 despite Megan Peterson’s career-high day.

On her senior night, Peterson had 16 saves, a career high and one short of the school record.

Ailish Rispin got the only shot past Peterson at the end of the 53 minute, which ended up being enough for Loras to get a win.

The Duhawks , 14-4 (5-0 IIAC), are leading the conference and even though they had only one goal, they had 29 total shots, putting 17 on goal.

The Storm only managed to get one shot on goal in the game, coming from freshman Kate Morford.

Simpson did come close another time when sophomore Amber Johnson had a header go in, but was called offsides.

It was the last home game of the season for the Storm, and the loss gives Simpson a 9-7 record and will finish the regular season next Tuesday at Buena Vista.
