Ball rolls Central way in 1-0 match

by Brett Crable

Sometimes the ball just doesn’t roll a team’s way, and the Simpson women soccer squad got a rude awakening of that as Central defeated Simpson, 1-0.

The Storm played a hard fought game against rival Central, but unfortunately came up on the short end of things.

The two teams were constantly going up and down the field trying to wear each other out until the very last minute. The Storm ended up losing 1-0 due to an early goal shot in the first half by Central that barely rolled in.

Senior Jess Toyne believes that her team is a lot better than what showed today. T

“The game did not turn out the way that we wanted it to,” Toyne said. “We need to play better team defense and offense, and we need to take more shots.”

With the season winding down before conference time there is only a limited amount of time left to make improvements before trying to win the conference championship. Senior Susan Leslie believed that the team needs to be more on the same page if they are going to improve before season end.

“We need to keep a positive attitude and we need to realize that every game counts,”Leslie said.
