DES MOINES, IA – Simpson came into Wednesday’s game looking to break a six-year losing streak with Grand View dating back to 2008, in which Simpson won at Grand View, 1-0.

Unfortunately for the Storm, the Vikings streak continued, as they fell 8-0 last night.

Grand View (5-2) took the lead in the 19th minute on a Nicole Pirie goal. Simpson (0-4) stayed tough, keeping the deficit at 1-0 through the rest of the first half.

The Vikings got hot in the second half, scoring seven goals in the final 31 minutes of play. Simpson goalkeeper, Kristin Riley was able to save 10 of the Grand View shots on goal, while Simpson could not even put one shot on the Grand View goal.

During this four-game losing streak, Simpson has now gone 283 minutes without scoring. The Storm look to end this drought as they to head to Illinois to face Principia College this Saturday at 1 p.m.
