Women’s soccer blanked by Loras, 5-0

INDIANOLA, Iowa –Women’s soccer was shutout for the ninth time on Saturday as an 8-6 Loras College Duhawks team dissected the Storm defense for a 5-0 victory.

Simpson (2-12-1, 0-3-1 IIAC) got behind early as Katie Truesdale scored her eighth goal of the season, and first goal of the day for the Duhawks in the 7th minute. Truesdale would later score in the 49th minute on a 30-yard bomb coming off a free kick.

Ailish Rispin would make it 2-0 Loras in the 18th minute, scoring from 10 yards out. Claire Murphy would later connect with Loras’ Hannah Burgmeier to go up 3-0.

After Truesdale’s second score of the day, Simpson put one more in Loras’ scoring column with an own goal in the 57th minute to make it 5-0.

Simpson’s offensive struggles continued as they put nearly nothing together on the offensive end Saturday, only managing to take one shot to Loras’ 19, while also failing to earn a corner kick opportunity.
