Wrestling shutout by No. 10 Wartburg in home opener

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Simpson wrestling was shutout 52-0 by No. 10 Wartburg Knights (1-0) Wednesday night as Simpson rolled out the mats for their first home meet of the season.

Weights that wrestled were between the 125 and 285, with Brett Roberts being the closest Storm player to earning a win at the 174 weight. He was eventually pinned by Wartburg’s Brandon Welter.

The Knights finished off the meet in just over an hour at one hour and two minutes.

Wartburg would go on the pin three other Simpson (1-1) wrestlers on what was Military Appreciation Night at Simpson.

Simpson wrestling will get another chance at a conference opponent this Saturday as they head to Coe College for a 9 a.m. start time with the Kohawks.
