If you look on my Facebook page and scroll down to my favorite foods, tacos are number one! That is why when I was given this assignment, I wanted to make sure that I gave you, the readers my absolute and honest opinion on the tacos that are offered in Indianola. There are three categories on which I rate food- taste, price and quality. They are the three things make my eating experience worth whatever I paid. I hope that my insight on this wonderful Latin dish will help you the next time you want something from south of the border.

Taco John’sIf you grew up in Iowa, you have probably had Taco John’s a few times. They have been crowned for being the master’s of WesMex cuisine-at affordable prices- and a nice, family atmosphere. The taste of these tacos is worth every penny!On Tuesdays, tacos are on sale for an unbeatable price. For 59 cents, you can get one hard shell taco and soft shell tacos are 79 cents. Both taco types go great with their signature Potato Oles which are seasoned perfectly. If you want more flavor in the tacos, add tomatoes-it’s totally worth it.Overall, the tacos were very tasty and did not get soggy or cold, they stayed warm and filled with flavor. 4.5 out of 5 stars. La CasaThe old Golden Corral has really turned itself around into a vibrant and colorful Mexican restaurant. The place was decked out in red and orange and beautiful art on all of the walls. The menu was very easy to read and everything was, once again, affordable. For this meal, I paid $6.99 and there was nothing on the menu for more than $15.I ordered the two tacos, one enchilada and one tostada meal. When my plate arrived, there were a lot of colors represented and the food looked and smelled wonderful. At first taste, it was also amazing, but as I continued to eat my food, the food grew very cold and soggy. After I ate one taco with tomatoes, the other one was so soggy, that it fell apart as I attempted to pick it up. As for the tostada, it was also very soggy. I noticed that the meat was very watery and it took away from the flavors of the cheese and vegetables. In the end, I wasn’t very impressed with my meal and the only thing that turned out good and not soggy was the enchilada.Overall, while I was very impressed with presentation.2 out of 5 stars. One Stop on the SquareVery close to campus and great a variety of items on the menu makes this restaurant a college students dream. Everyone on the campus knows about the ½ price tacos on Tuesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The flour puffed tacos are a knock-off of the famous Tasty Tacos in Des Moines, but this version has become a favorite of mine. Served with a mean beef and bean combination, lettuce and cheese, these tacos are very soft and good until the very last bite. The only problem with the One Stop taco is that after a while, you loose the flavor of the taco and all you can taste is well, cheese and the taco shell. Overall, I give the One Stop taco. 4 out of 5 stars
