Forum Calendar

Jeffrey Weiss, executive director of the Catholic Peace Ministry in Des Moines, will present the forum lecture Afghanistan 101: The Case for Withdrawal, Monday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. in Jordan Lecture Hall in Carver Science Center. Weiss teaches political science at DMAAC and worked with the American Friends Service Committee doing peace and justice work.

Tuesday, Nov. 16 Luke Behaunek of the Office of Student Development Presents “All the Pieces Matter: Making Sense Out of Puzzling Projects” at 12:30 p.m. in Barker Hall Lounge as part of the Lunch and Lead program.

Simpson students will gather in Jordan Lecture Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. for the Ethics Bowl Finals.

The Simpson Jazz Ensemble will be performing Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall alongside this year’s high school Jazz Honor Band in their fall concert.

Hoop-A-Palooza

Simpson’s first-ever Hoop-A-Palooza event will take place tonight, Nov. 11 in the Cowles Center. The 2010-11 men’s and women’s basketball teams will be scrimmaging; first half will be women followed by the men during the second half. There will be special contests and prize giveaways. The event is open to the public as well as all students, staff and faculty. The event will take place at 6 p.m., so go check out the Storm! Check with The Simpsonian next week to see how the event went. 

Crime Log

Nov. 11- Sometime between Nov. 2 and Nov. 5 at 10:00-10:30 p.m., in the 400 block of N. Howard/the Goodwill lot, the rear license plate was stolen from a motor vehicle while parked in the Goodwill parking lot. There was a report filed with Indianola Police Department, and the incident is under investigation.
