Storm volleyball lose 3-0

As the big Homecoming football game against Coe College approaches, Simpson Volleyball welcomed the Kohawks Wednesday night, which also happened to be Senior Night hoping to start the homecoming celebration early.

Right from the start of the night Coe was having their way with the Storm. In all three matches the Kohawks jumped out ahead of the Storm at the beginning of all three games.

While the Storm would put up fights and rally at times, it was usually too late into the games to have a solid chance of coming back.

Senior Steph Keller, who was a spark for her team Wednesday night, believed that the team was lacking things and could have played better.

“We could have done better, enthusiasm was not there at moments, we lost some of our intensity and just did not put it all together. Overall though it was a fun match,” Keller said.

The Storm ended up losing 3-0 with the scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-13.

As the season winds down for the Storm there are still things to improve upon.

Junior Audrey Schuttler believes there is still time to finish the season strong.

“We still have a game left next Tuesday against the University of Dubuque, and we can win that if we work really hard, as well as win the Augustana Invite that is next weekend,” Schuttler said.

The Storm will look to bounce back next Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. when they take on Dubuque. The Storm will be participating in the Augustana Invitational next weekend as well starting Friday at 2 p.m. against Iowa Wesleyan.
