INDIANOLA, Iowa- The women’s tennis team was unable to finish off their home schedule with a win Tuesday, as they fell to a potent Central College team 8-1.

Central was 4-1 heading into play against Simpson (5-6), and their .800 winning percentage showed, sweeping all three doubles matches and taking five out of six in singles.

Junior Kelli Ehrhardt continued her strong season for the Storm, winning the lone singles match of the day for Simpson, 6-4, 6-3. Ehrhardt improved to 7-4 in singles with Tuesday’s win.

Standout freshman, Cassidy Bierbrodt, lost only her second match of the season after withdrawing because of problems related to asthma. Bierbrodt still holds an impressive 6-2 singles record.

Simpson will have one last crack at it this weekend before the IIAC Individual Tournament gets underway. Simpson will head to Decorah for a doubleheader beginning against the Norse and finishing with Wartburg College at 2 p.m.
