Simpson golf stays hot, winning home Indianola Invite

INDIANOLA, Iowa – After finishing 2nd last weekend in the Dubuque Invitational, Simpson men’s golf continued their winning ways, taking 1st in a field of eight teams at the Simpson Invitational Wednesday.

Trent Lindenman lead all competitors in the field of 50, finishing first with a career high 68, three under the par of 71 at the Indianola Country Club. This is Lindenman’s third 1st place finish of the season.

Andy Hutchins made for a great duo with Lindenman, finishing second overall at par.

Simpson collectively shot a 289, which was good for five over par and a full 16 strokes ahead of second place Wartburg.

Other finishers included:

Nathan Molstead: 73 (+2) – t-4th

Jimmy Siebert: 77 (+6) – t-13th

John Hartung: 82 (+11) – t-33rd

Simpson also brought their “Simpson Red” squad to the home Invite. Competitors included:

Mitch Tomlonovic: 74 (+3) – t-6th

Chad Moore: 77 (+6) t-13th

Marshall Kray: 79 (+8) – t-18th

Korbin Sesker: 81 (+10) – t-28th

Logan Floyd: 82 (+11) – t-33rd

Nick Hartman: 85 (+14) – 41st

Men’s golf will get a chance to continue their recent success this Monday as they head to Wisconsin for the Midwest Region Classic at Trappers Turn. The men are set for an 11 a.m. tee time in Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
