Match 1: Luther 9, Simpson 0

DECORAH, Iowa – Women’s Tennis headed into Saturday looking to go above .500 on the season before IIAC Individual Tournament play with matches against Luther and Wartburg.

Simpson (5-7, 2-4) took the first match of the day in the chin as they dropped all nine matches to the Norse (8-1). No Storm player was able to win a set on Saturday, with Cassidy Bierbrodt being the closest to clinching a set in a 7-5, 6-1 loss to Lauren Welch.

Match 2: Wartburg 8, Simpson 1

WAVERLY, Iowa – After a morning in Decorah, the women’s tennis team made the short trip over to Waverly to take on the Knights of Wartburg.

Simpson (5-8, 2-5) didn’t fare much better in the second half of their doubleheader as they dropped eight of nine matches to Wartburg (7-3, 5-2). A combination of Megan Bradley and Sidney Griffith scratched out the only win for Simpson in doubles, winning 8-3.

Women’s Tennis looks to kick into high gear when it matters most as they enter into IIAC Individual Tournament play on Oct. 3 and 4.
