Men look to regroup for Central this weekend

by Megan Stout

As the Storm men’s basketball team prepares for the upcoming Central game this Saturday, they must regroup after losing twice last weekend to Buena Vista and Wartburg.

The Storm men now have a 7-5 conference record.”We have come a long way since the beginning of the season,” said head coach Bruce Wilson.

“But we still need to improve before tournament play begins.”

Coach Wilson also said that so far this season has really been an all-around team effort.

“We are a strong defensive team, and we need to keep our focus going into the second half of the season,” said Wilson.

The Storm men are second in the league in steals, and second in freethrows.

“This indicates that we are stealing the ball, but not fouling,” said Wilson. “It’s really a credit to our strong defensive play.”

Sophomore Dirk Walker is first in the conference in assists and second in steals.

“Dirk and Mike Tiedeman are doing a great job for us at point,” said Wilson.

Junior Matt McCulla is also doing well rebounding for the Storm and is fourth in the league in rebounds.

“We’ve played some tough teams so far this year,” said sophomore Jason Snyder. “We play well, but there is room for improvement.”
