Simpson ranked a top ten value five years in a row
The U.S. News and World Report’s list of top colleges has Simpson ranked number seven of the best midwestern private colleges.
“I think it indicates the quality of our faculty and staff and the value of a Simpson education. We know the quality of education we provide and it’s gratifying to have a national publication recognize that,” said President R. Kevin LaGree.
Simpson has acheived this honor for the fifth year in a row.
“It’s not a new achievement for Simpson College, but it continues a tradition of excellence,” LaGree said.
Other schools in the area include: St. Marys College (IN), Taylor University (IN), Calvin College (MI), St. Norbert College (WI), Ohio Northern University, Otterbein College (Ohio), Wartburg College, Central College and Augustana College (IL).
Simpson also took the no. 2 honor in the magazines “Best Value” ranking.
Hildreth wins freshman class president run-off election
Ryan Hildreth won the run-off election and will be the 2002-2003 freshmen class president. Hildreth originally ran against five other freshmen for class president. Hildreth and another candidate did not recieve a majority to win so a special run-off election was held last Monday.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Student Senate in the role I’m in. I look forward to making a positive impact on the freshmen class,” Hildreth said.
