Senior Erin Goettl scored a school record seven goals as SimpsonStormed to a 14-0 victory over NCAA Division II Upper Iowa Oct. 1in Indianola. Goettl’s seven goals breaks the old Simpson mark ofsix which was set Oct. 23, 1998 by Alicia Vegas who scored sixgoals against William Jewell.Goettl is the fourth NCAA Division IIIplayer to score seven goals in a game, the second most in DivisionIII history. Goettl also added an assist for a school record 15points, the third most by a player in a Division III match. Shetied Guilford’s Alex Hutton who posted 15 points Sept. 25, 2002.The old school record for most points in a match was 13. Goettladded a third school record, most shots in a game with 16, breakingthe old mark of 14, which was set by three different players.
