Simpson College Wind Ensemble to give concert
The Simpson College Wind Ensemble, directed by Andrew McMahan,will be in concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4 in PoteTheatre.
Pote Theatre is located in Blank Performing Arts Center on thewest side of campus.
The concert is free and open to the public.
Simpson to hold annual
lessons and carols
Simpson’s Annual Lessons and Carols celebration will be held onSunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Smith Chapel.
Lessons and Carols is a traditional English carol service withreadings and anthems featuring the music of the Simpson CollegeChoir, Chorale and the Brass Ensemble.
Lessons and Carols is an all-college and all-communityevent.
‘Zenith’ yearbook receives 3rd place in Best of Show
On Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Associated Collegiate Press NationalMedia Conference in Dallas, TX, the 2003 Simpson College Zenithyearbook received a third place Best of Show national award in thecategory of yearbooks which had 299 pages or less. This is thesecond national award for the Zenith in five years.
Last year’s Zenith theme was Focus and the book was judged onexcellence in journalism and design.
Best of Show entries consist of one copy of a newspaper from thecurrent school year, one copy of a magazine or yearbook from theprevious school year or a single broadcast program.
Sharon Albright Baltes, was the editor of the 2003 Zenith;Jessica Braunschweig, the art director; Amanda Kost, the businessmanager; and Carol Carder the advisor.
