Whether you are a graduating senior or you just finished yourfirst glorious year of college, the real world is coming up. Peopleare going to start asking you what your plans and goals are. Grant Fjetland

Major, and number of times it changed: Management, “I didn’tactually declare my major till my junior year.”

Plans after graduation: I have a few job interviews.

Favorite professor: Tom Schmidt.

Best memory at Simpson: Florida baseball trip.

What will you miss the most: “Definitely the social life.”

Professor you could have lived without: Lora Friedrich.

Advice for freshmen: “Live it up while you can. It doesn’t lastvery long.”

Most influential person in your life: My parents.

Favorite movie: Shashank Redemption.

Jill Colbert

Major, and number of times it changed: Graphic Design andJournalism/ Mass Communication, once.

Plans after graduation: Get a job.

Favorite professor: Brian Steffen.

Best memory at Simpson: “Playing foosball in our kitchen atWashington 7.”

What will you miss the most: The people.

Worst memory at Simpson: “Finding mold in my room in Kresge myfreshman year.”

Advice for freshmen: “Have as much fun as you can because itgoes by fast.”

What will you miss the most: The people, staff, administrationand all the students, the bar and the social aspect of college lifein general.

Would you take any moment back?: No because the bad moments onlymade me stronger

Enjoyable experience: “I enjoyed the opportunity that the schoolgave me, especially as Student Body President. I got the chance tomeet alumni, students and help make a decision on campus that willbetter everyone.”

Advice for freshmen: “Get involved, don’t sit in your room. Youwill find that you will have a lot more fun on campus rather thanin your room. If there is any opportunity, make sure you do itbecause now is the time. “

Favorite color: Silver

Dana Kuiken

Major, and number of times it changed: Biology, with a coachingendorsement; twice

Plans after graduation: Hopefully join Americops, but if notthen go to physical therapy school

Favorite professor: Pat Singer

Best memory at Simpson: Going to nationals in swimming.

What will you miss the most: “I think I will miss the wholeSimpson community.”

Worst memory at Simpson: My first organic chemistry test

What you won’t miss: The food

Advice for freshmen: “Don’t get too stressed out.”

Philip Parker

Plans after graduation: Attend law school or work with thepresidential reelection campaign

Best memory at Simpson: Fall of every year with recruitment andHomecoming, and of course May Term.

What will you miss the most: “The people I have spent the lastfour years with.”

Enjoyable experience: My semester in D.C.

What you would do different: Nothing

Advice for freshmen: “Be true to your friends, they will get youthrough the tough times.”

Favorite class: Supreme Court and Civil Liberties

Megan Stout

Major and number of times it changed: English and History, andit only ever changed from undecided to that.

Plans after graduation: Live in Des Moines for the summer withfriends, then somewhere in Asia with the Peace Corp

Favorite professor: Nancy St. Clair

Best memory at Simpson: Thursday nights

Enjoyable experience: “I enjoyed living on campus and having thefreedom.”

What you would do different: “I would have paid more attentionto my class schedule so I would not have taken heavy class loadswhen I was a senior.”

What you will miss most: My friends, and the lifestyle of notnecessarily being in the real world.

Advice for freshmen: “Enjoy it while it last because college isgone in a blink of an eye”

Favorite color: Purple

Laina Toliver

Major, and number of times it changed: Corporate Communicationand Marketing, zero

Plans after graduation: Getting married to Matt Edwards andworking as an Admissions Counselor for Simpson.

Favorite professor: “Gary Kinkel, because he always had suchfunny and inspirational stories. He also had an impact on myfaith.”

Best memory at Simpson: “When we beat Central in football andwatched their 3,000 fans hang their heads in shame as they walkedout of the stadium.”

What will you miss the most: “I will miss not being steps awayfrom all of my friends. It is a sad thought that we will be so farapart from each other after we graduate.”

What you would do different: Studying abroad, “I am stillkicking myself for not taking advantage of the opportunity.”

Advice for freshmen: “Don’t worry so much about the future thatyou forget to appreciate the present.”

Favorite class: “My May Term trip to Greece and Italy. Thescenery, food and wine were all amazing!”

Christine Walsh

Major, and number of times it changed: Biology, “I have neverchanged it! Unless you count freshmen orientation when theypre-registered me as a music major.”

Plans after graduation: Attend University of Iowa carver Collegeof Medicine

Favorite professor: “Dr. Warnet, gotta love anyone who makesorganic chemistry fun.”

Best memory at Simpson: It is so hard to narrow it down, buteither Homecoming 2003, Greek Week, or freshman year with JillCarson yelling “PENIS”

What will you miss the most: All of my wonderful friends, myKappa sisters, and my psycho roommates

Enjoyable experience: “Being able to walk across campus and seeeveryone’s smiling faces…especially on Friday mornings!”

Embarrassing experience: The time I fell flat on the ice in themiddle of campus.

Advice for freshmen: “Enjoy it while it lasts, because theseyears flash before your eyes. Live it up, treasure each moment, butplease don’t loose sight of your priorities.”
