The 2010 Matthew Simpson Lecture will feature Grant Wacker of Duke University presenting Billy Graham and the Other Americans tonight at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall.

On Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Simpson faculty members share their stories in the Tuesdays with a Professor series in Dirlam Lounge, sponsored by Simpson’s Center for Vocational and Integrative Learning.

Martha Willits of the Greater Des Moines Partnership provides Insights on Leadership Development. The event will be hosted at the West Des Moines campus by the Evening, Weekend and Graduate program on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. This event will also be the first in a Simpson Speaker Series by EWG featuring prominent local and regional leaders.

Altered Schedule on Sept. 24

Dining Services changed hours of operation for the 150th Celebration

Pfeiffer dining hall will be hosting a picnic lunch by Hillman Hall from noon to 1 p.m. for the 150th Celebration. The changed hours are as follows:

Breakfast in Pfeiffer from 7:15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Continental Breakfast from 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Dinner in Pfeiffer from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

The Storm Street Grill will not open until 4 p.m., and neither Pfeiffer Express nor Storm Express will be open that day.

Classes will also be running on an altered schedule.

Meals for the Heartland

Last Thursday and Saturday, 50 Simpson students packaged up food for Meals from the Heartland in the metro area. According to its website, Meals from the Heartland is a non-profit organization composed of volunteers who package meals for delivery to starving people around the world. These students were part of 9,500 volunteers who packaged 3,529,744 meals in just three days.
