WTF is our money going?
November 7, 2012
On the night before the election, Simpson’s WTF Club laid out $1,000 of senior member Mike Henry’s personal savings and invited students to stamp calls for a Constitutional amendment on single dollar bills. WTF stands for ‘Where’s the Fun’.
“We’re trying to stamp money to spread a political message,” senior Marc Dwenger, who worked the table in Kent Campus Center with Henry and advisor Fred Seel, said.
The event called attention to what the group said was a need for a Constitutional amendment requiring all election campaigning to be publically financed so that politicians pay less attention to private donors’ needs and more attention to the public. The group hoped to put stamped bills back into circulation to spread the message past Simpson College.
