October 7, 2015
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Cody Jacobson scored two goals, the Storm defense only allowed four shots on goal, and keeper Zach McEntee saved each one of them as Simpson snapped its four-game losing skid in a 2-0 win over Augustana (Ill.) on Wednesday.
Collin Hemann assisted on Jacobson’s first goal, coming in the 27th minute. Simpson clung to the 1-0 advantage until Colin Robinson and Garrett Pochop fed the hot-foot in Jacobson once more, providing an insurance goal in the 85th minute.
Jacobson’s two goals gave him three goals in the last two contests.
Zach McEntee made four saves for the Storm (5-7-1) who held Augustana (3-9-1) to only 11 shots.
While Simpson earned the win, sitting at 0-2 in Iowa Conference play the Storm are going to have to get on track quick, beginning with Luther College at home on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
