Senior Cameo Storm not only became a Simpson Storm, but she’s taking life by storm and enjoying every moment.

Storm’s decision to come to Simpson is not like most. After starting her college experience in the Dental Hygiene Program at DMACC, she knew it wasn’t for her.

“Teeth are more disgusting than y’all realize,” she said.

Even though she had no interest in enrolling at Simpson, mostly because she’s a townie, Storm’s dad decided he was going to help her apply anyway.

“My dad saw it as an opportunity for me to try something different and live at home in case I didn’t like it,” she said.

Little did she know that her experience at Simpson College would turn out amazing and be one she’ll never forget. Storm has made many memories, including getting engaged, and wouldn’t change one thing about the college.

“Simpson is the bomb,” she said. “My two favorite Simpson memories are performing in the stomp routine during senior year homecoming and turning 21 on Campus Day Eve.”

Storm came to Simpson wanting to study biology, but changed her mind after taking a public relations class. She decided to major in public relations and minor in human resources, realizing that communications is perfect for her, especially since she’s a social butterfly.

Aside from meeting new people, Storm’s interests also include fashion and participating in yoga. In her free time, she enjoys singing, dancing, listening to music, eating tacos, reading, pulling pranks, laughing, loving, making people smile and doing anything outdoors.

Although her future plans aren’t set in stone, she’d like to get a job or internship on one of the coasts.

“As long as I find a job I’m passionate about I will be happy,” Storm said. “Who knows, maybe someday I will be a talk show host on The Today Show and have my own boutique on the side.”

Even though Storm isn’t heavily involved in different clubs and organizations on campus, she has made many new friends. She’s also developed valuable relationships with professors who have influenced her experience in a positive way.

“I’m not really involved in a lot at Simpson, but I don’t think you have to be in order to meet people,” she said. “I aspire to be as cool as Mark Siebert, as tough as Jane Murphy and as famous as Brian Steffen someday.”

The organizations she’s involved in, PRSSA and Pi Beta Phi, have helped shape her into the person she is today and have given her several opportunities to make even more connections.

“Being in a sorority at Simpson has been the bomb,” she said. “Not only do you get close with the girls in your sorority, but you meet so many people in the Greek community.”

Her sorority not only gives her the chance to grow as an individual and build lifelong friendships, but there’s always a sister who’s able to spend time with her.

“You automatically have friends once you join and there is always someone who is willing to hang out, whether that means painting our nails or making a Fuzzy’s Tacos run,” Storm said.

Storm’s piece of advice is definitely one to remember. “Say yes to the stupid stuff and embarrass yourself. You’ll laugh later.”
