The men’s soccer team was able to stick with nationally ranked Loras for the first half, but let it slip in the second losing 7-0.

The Storm held Loras to only one goal in the first, then the fourth ranked Duhawks took over, scoring six more in the second.

The Duhawks put 10 of their 18 shots on goal, while the Storm only managed to get off two shots, putting one on goal.

Loras’ seven goals came from seven different players and goalkeeper Dylan Milkent played all 90 minutes with one save.

As for the Storm, their only shot on goal came from freshman Marcus Varnum.

Simpson goalkeepers Luke Aronow, junior, and Zach McEntee, freshman, split time playing 73 minutes and 17 minutes respectively. Aronow had two saves and allowed five goals and McEntee had one save and allowed two goals.

With the loss, the Storm drop to 11-7-1 and 2-3-1 in conference. Their next match is 7 p.m. next Tuesday the 23 at Buena Vista.
