Storm WBB roll over Duhawks

by Brett Crable

The Simpson Women’s Basketball team was at it again Wednesday evening as they took down the fighting Duhawks of Loras in style winning 74-54.

The Simpson Storm came into the game with an overall record of 13-1, and 3-0 to start out conference. They would be yet again taking on another top notch opponent in Loras College, who has an overall record of 12-2, and 2-1 in conference.

The Storm started out a little slow and antsy, but fortunately Loras was much of the same way. In the first half both teams had established fast paced offenses, but both teams were playing solid defense so offensively it was hard to execute anything.

The Storm went into halftime leading the Duhawks 32-18 with the game still in reach. However, this changed immediately when the Storm came out of the locker room for the second half. Right away they could not be stopped. Anything that they shot seemed to be falling for the Storm. The Storm sucked what little momentum Loras had right out of the building, pulling too far ahead that the Duhawks could not make up any ground.

The Storm continue to roll through the conference untouched with Kate Nielsen leading the way again tonight along with strong support from her teammates. Everyone was clicking on all cylinders and chemistry looked phenomenal as usual. At this pace the Storm are the team to beat the rest of the season.

The Storm will be in action again Saturday where they head up north to take on the University of Dubuque. Tip off will be at 2 p.m.
