The rain and even the snow has made for the Iowa Conference scheduling become messier as days progress. Simpson softball was scheduled to play Buena Vista on Wednesday, but it was moved up a day with the forecast calling for snow in the middle of the week.

Simpson came away victorious in both games defeating the Beavers 7-3 in game one and shutting down Buena Vista in game two, 6-0.

The rally started in game one with a two-run home run from freshman Rachel Guessford sparked the seven runs scored all in the fourth inning.

Kylie Van Houten led off the rally with a double to center field that scored Britney Steele. Chelsea Winegard and Ashley Prettyman each had RBI singles before Guessford hit her third homerun of the season, and just her fourth of the season in just her 18th at-bat.

Kacee Arey (18-8) threw all seven innings throwing 36 pitches allowing eight hits and one earned run.

In game two, it was the second inning that put the Storm into the win column for the 20th time this season. Winegard hit her third home run of the season to start the rally following a Van Houten single. Hailey Jensen also had an RBI in the inning.

Arey threw 5.2 innings in the game by allowing one hit to the 21 batters faced in the win while Kaytlyn Ernst went the rest of the way and allowed just one hit.
