WATERLOO, Iowa – Amidst the fall women’s tennis season, the men still take to the court for the annual IIAC Individual Tournament, which took place on Friday and Saturday of this weekend.

Peter Reitgraf, Pierce Carey and Nate Sams all reached the quarterfinals of singles play but were knocked out before the semifinals as no Storm player reached the final day of the tournament.

The No. 2 Reitgraf advanced on a bye in round one and then cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win in round two over Wartburg’s Colin Jacobs. Reitgraf would eventually be knocked out of the Flight B singles bracket by Andre Green of Wartburg.

Carey, on the other side of the B bracket, won in three sets and then 6-2, 6-1 in set two but the No. 1 Jared Barnes of Luther College was too much in the quarterfinals.

In Flight C play, Sams headlined the Storm’s performers, notching a come-from-behind win in the first set before taking down Wartburg’s McClain Holst, 6-1, 6-0 en lieu of his quarterfinals defeat.

Simpson did not fair well in doubles play, with Carey and Adam Weiser being the lone duo to win a match for the Storm in doubles play. They would go on to lose their second round match in Flight B doubles.
