DUBUQUE, Iowa – Volleyball went 4-0 at the IIAC-NACC Crossover Challenge this weekend, joining Iowa Conference schools in a 16-0 sweep of Northern Athletics teams on Friday and Saturday. The Storm now 10-2 in three years competing in this challenge.

Match 1: Simpson 3, Marian (Wis.) 1 (25-17, 25-15, 19-25, 25-17)

Simpson (9-8, 0-2) was powered by 14 kills from Jacqueline Luth and 41 assists from Sara Hoppenworth in a tournament opening win over Marian.

Match 2: Simpson 3, MSOE 2 (25-23, 12-25, 21-25, 27-25, 16-14)

Tabitha Blaser put up 17 kills to ignite a late surge from the Storm who hit only .128 throughout the match. Hoppenworth bested her previous total of 41 kills with 48.

Match 3: Simpson 3, Lakeland 1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-17, 25-20)

It was a whole team effort in the opening match for Simpson on Saturday, as four different players had double-digit kills and five had more than 13 digs.

Hoppenworth had a staggering 55 assists and Blaser posted her best numbers of the tournament with 19 kills.

Match 4: Simpson 3, Benedictine (Ill.) 1 (21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-16)
