The Simpson women’s tennis team improved their hot start to 2015 with wins over Loras (6-3) and Dubuque (5-4) on Saturday as the Storm improved to 4-0 on the season.

vs. Loras: 

Simpson swept a key three matches in doubles play before splitting singles play to double-up the Duhawks 6-3.

Kelli Greiner won in straight sets in the No. 3 spot before Megan Bradley and Liz Nimmo backed up the Storm with wins in the fifth and sixth spots respectively.

vs. Dubuque:

Women’s tennis had to come from behind to steal a win out of the hands of the Spartans, winning the final four singles matches to down Dubuque by one.

Michelle Hartmann and Cassidy Bierbrodt won the only doubles match, 8-1, although the Storm got off to a rough start in singles by losing the first two matches.

Greiner, Bierbrodt, Bradley and Nimmo combined to win four straight singles matches as Simpson completed the 5-4 comeback win.

Bierbrodt won a crucial, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 match to keep Simpson afloat in the No. 4 spot.

Next on Simpson’s slate is Coe and Cornell College. The Storm will face the Kohawks at 10 a.m. on the road on Saturday, Sept. 19 before taking on the Rams at 2 p.m.
