October 20, 2015
DUBUQUE, Iowa – Simpson trailed just 16-17 in the first set, but Loras went on a 8-1 run to close out the set, earning momentum as they handed the Storm their seventh straight loss in conference play.
The Storm only led one other time on Tuesday, taking a short-lived 7-5 lead in the second set, although the Duhawks would rally to post a .324 kill percentage in that frame to take the set.
Elisa Wildy had a season-high 12 kills for Simpson, nine more than her next highest kill total of the season. Tabitha Blaser was in the thick of things again for the Storm, notching 10 kills, although Simpson would hit a meager .106 as a team.
Freshman Maura Chadwick tied a season and career-high with 23 assists and Olivia Sulentic had a team-best 16 digs.
Liz Jendra led a balanced Loras attack with 12 kills.
The Storm head into fall break and will have to wait until Tuesday, Oct. 27 to break a seven-game conference losing-skid that dates back to Oct. 21 of last season in a 3-2 win over Loras.
Simpson will be honoring its seniors when they take on the Dutch at Cowles Fieldhouse next week.
