PELLA, Iowa – The Central Dutch put up a 32-shot barrage on the Simpson defense, scoring five times as they cruised to a 5-1 win over the Storm women’s soccer team on Wednesday afternoon.

Kayla Sunvold scored her eighth goal of the season in the 10th minute of action, putting Pella up 1-0 before Lauren Vahlkamp’s goal in the 28th minute sent Central leading 2-0 at the half.

Annisa Stanitzek added two second half goals to the lead the Dutch (9-3-1, 3-0-1), bookending Mackenzie Stump’s goal on a free kick in 65th minute.

Zoe Seiler (2-9) made six saves in goal for Simpson (3-11-0, 0-4-0), while Central’s Sydney Lunardi (7-3-1) only had to make one in nearly 71 minutes of work to earn the win.

The Storm are 1-9 in their last ten games and will look to break into the win column in Iowa Conference play at home on Friday when they host Coe (13-1-1) at 4 p.m.
