CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson fell 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-19) to Coe on Tuesday night at Eby Fieldhouse, keeping the Storm in the hunt for their first IIAC win.

The Storm (11-13, 0-5) were outplayed in nearly every aspect of the match, hitting just .092 to Coe’s .348. The Kohawks (16-10, 2-3) won out on the defense side as well, blocking 10 Simpson kill attempts to only two for the Storm.

Tabitha Blaser had a team and match-high 10 kills and Sara Hoppenworth served up 25 assists, but Simpson committed 21 attack errors to only eight for Coe, a stat that helped Coe to win despite not having a single player with double-digit kills.

Brianna Smith led the Kohawks with nine kills and five aces.

Simpson will play its second-to-last home match of the season this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against Graceland (10-13).
