INDIANOLA, Iowa – Cedar Rapids native, Mackenzie Stump, nearly downed her hometown team on Friday, scoring the go-ahead goal in the 66th minute, but Coe responded for two goals to win 2-1 at Buxton Stadium.

Stump scored her fourth goal of the season following up on a rebound off the crossbar. Just six minutes later, Coe’s Keira Frederito used a through ball from Kelsey Fauser to even up the game at 1-1.

Coe (14-1-1, 4-1-0) completed the comeback when Ashlyn Moos connected with Sarah Fathallah on a cross for the game-winner in the 79th minute.

The Storm (3-12-0, 0-5-0) hung with Coe on the offensive end, only being out-shot 12-9, with both squads putting four shots on goal.

Zoe Seiler made four saves for Simpson, falling to 2-10 on the year while Kohawk netminder MJ Winterer improved to 10-1.

The Storm take a mid-week trip to William Penn on Tuesday, Oct. 20 before jumping back into Iowa Conference play on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Wartburg.
