INDIANOLA, Iowa – Women’s soccer played solid defense once again, but an offensive attack was still lacking as the Storm lost 1-0 to the Concordia-Chicago Cougars on Sunday afternoon at Buxton Stadium.

Syndey Fuller’s goal in the 24th minute provided the difference in the game. The Cougars’ score came off a corner kick, leading to a block shot before Fuller connected on a rebound.

Simpson (3-10) outshot Concordia-Chicago (5-8) 11-10 and put four more shots on goal, but none could find the back of the net in the team’s eighth shutout loss of the season.

Mackenzie Stump came close on a few occasions, putting up a team-leading three shots on goal.

The Storm head to Central College to take on the Dutch at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. It’s an important game for Simpson who is 0-3 in conference, needing to make a push to qualify for the conference tournament.
