INDIANOLA, Iowa – Sure one could say that Simpson’s Trent Lindenman had a “home-field” advantage as he won the Simpson Fall Invite at the Indianola Country Club on Wednesday, helping Simpson finish second in the nine team competition.

But based on the Lindenman’s track record this fall, and throughout his career, it’s pretty apparent Lindenman doesn’t need any advantages – he’s just good.

The senior from New Sharon, Iowa shot a fall season best 70, one under par, to finish two strokes ahead of Coe’s Hunter Livermore for first place in the 51 golfer field.

Lindenman recorded three birdies on the day, including two in the final four holes to shoot three under par for the back nine.

The performance was Lindenman’s third top ten finish of the fall season and his fifth first place finish since last the fall of 2014 season.

Men’s golf as a team finished with a 304, 20 over par, one stroke ahead of Grand View University and just five strokes behind first place Wartburg College.

Simpson’s Korbin Sesker and Shaan Desai shot a pair of 77’s, tying for 10th to round out Simpson’s top ten finishers.

Other Finishers:

Nick Hartman – 80 (+9) t22nd

Blake Bender – 84 (+13) t35th

The invite concludes men’s golf’s fall slate.

Women’s golf on the other hand is gearing up for the first round of the IIAC Championship at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls tomorrow.
