MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – Simpson nearly matched its season goal total in just one game on Wednesday, annihilating Iowa Wesleyan (0-8-1) 8-0 to break a six-game losing streak.

The Storm’s eight goals was their most since winning 13-0 over AIB on Oct. 16, 2012.

Simpson (3-8-0) scored six times in the first half, starting the barrage right out of the gates when Laura Alt scored in the second minute.

Kate Morford led all scorers with two goals as seven different players scored for a Simpson team that put up a 43 shot onslaught, just 22 shots short of their shots total from all season.

Mackenzie Stump recorded the games’ only assist, setting up Meredith Harrison in the 40th minute.

Simpson gets back into conference play on Saturday, Oct. 10 when it hosts Luther at 5 p.m. The Storm will turn around for their second game in as many games against Concordia-Chicago on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m.
