5 Questions for Nancy St. Clair

Professor of English Nancy St. Clair has been teaching at Simpson College for about 18 years now and truly enjoys her job.
“I love to teach… I love the students,” St. Clair said.
Before coming to work at Simpson, St. Clair taught English composition at Iowa State University. A graduate of Cornell University, Nancy received her bachelor’s degree in English and political science. She later went on to receive her Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.
In her free time, St. Clair enjoys reading, gardening, working out and traveling. She has gone on several May Term trips including Greece, Turkey and Brazil. Her newest venture will be to China this May Term. Not only does she love traveling, she also loves her animals. St. Clair has six cats, one dog, a rabbit, a chinchilla, and a parakeet.
The mother of two daughters, ages 18 and 23, and married to her college sweetheart, St. Clair is very optimistic about her life.
“I feel like one of the luckiest people in the world,” St. Clair said.
