Men’s Basketball (1-3, 0-0 IIAC)
L 85-71 @ Elmhurst, Nov. 17: Junior center Tim Dunlavy led the Storm with 17 points and six rebounds.
L 80-65 @ Augustana (Ill.), Nov. 20: Simpson rallied early in the second half to take a 39-38 lead over the No. 5 Vikings. Augustana then scored 15 unanswered to pull away for the victory. Dunlavy led all scorers with 21 points.
L 87-79 vs. Carleton, Nov. 23: The Storm trailed by three with just over three minutes remaining, only to surrender consecutive three-pointers by the Knights to fall behind by nine. Dunlavy tallied 18 points, senior guard Brennan Tubaugh had 17, and freshman guard Dave Johnson had 15.
W 115-104 vs. Grinnell, Nov. 25: Dunlavy’s double-double (32 points, 13 rebounds) helped Simpson notch their first victory over Grinnell since 1997.
Women’s Basketball (4-0, 0-0 IIAC)
W 68-44 @ Northwestern (IA), Nov. 16: Junior forward Whitney Franker led the Storm with 12 points, while junior Maria Oliver grabbed eight boards.
W 74-45 vs. Jamestown, Nov. 17: Senior forward Katelyn Whiton notched a double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) to lead the Storm.
W 99-53 vs. Nebraska Wesleyan, Nov. 23: Juniors Denisha Fields and Carrie Larson came off the bench to score 16 points and pull down eight boards each.
W 115-66 vs. Presentation, Nov. 24: The Storm came up one point short of tying a school record for points in a game. Whiton scored 20 points to lead the team. Senior Carlie Beals was 4-4 from beyond the arc and finished with 14 points, while junior Jemi Kuberski poured in 14 points as well.
Wrestling
No Team Scores @ Augsburg Open, Nov. 17: Freshman Jordan Ammons finished second in the silver division of the 174 pound weight class, freshman Sam Thielen came in second in the bronze division of the 165 pound weight class, and sophomore Sam Collora finished third in the silver division of the 197 pound weight class.
