April 14: Alcohol educator Michael Wegner presents “Beer Pong and Other Drinking Games: So What’s The Big Deal?” at 7 p.m. in Jordan Lecture Hall.

April 15-17: Theatre Simpson presents its Festival of Short Plays 2011, focusing on productions emblematic of the 50th anniversary of the John F. Kennedy Center and on American theater at 7:30 p.m. in Barnum Studio Theatre on the Friday and Saturday, and at 1 p.m. in Barnum Studio Theatre on Sunday.

April 18: Celebrate the Jewish Passover with a Seder Dinner and Ceremony from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. in Pioneer Conference Room. RSVP required for students wishing to participate.

April 19: Students debate same-sex marriage in the Applied Ethics Challenge at 11 a.m. in Lekberg Hall.

April 20: The Simpson College Band presents its spring concert at 7 p.m. in Great Hall.

Startup Storm

Simpson College will hold its first ever Startup Storm on April 16, 2011 from 9:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. in Jordan Lecture Hall. The one day conference will have five speakers who will hold breakout sessions that will regard starting up businesses and implementing ideas.

Crime Log

April 6, 2011: At 2:55 a.m. around the 600 block of N. Buxton a subject was cited and released for fifth degree criminal mischief. Indianola Police Department (IPD) was involved and the subject has a court date pending.

April 10, 2011: At 12:10 a.m. around the 600 block of N. E, a subject was charged with public intoxication and possession of alcohol under the age of 21. IPD was involved and the subject was transported to Warren County Jail.

April 10, 2011: At 5:36 a.m. in the Weinman apartments, a subject has charges pending reference to criminal mischief. Subject accused of breaking off sprinkler head in Weinman apartment. IPD was notified and the charges are pending.

April 11, 2011: At 5:11 p.m. around the 700 block of W. Clinton Ave. there was a report of possible identity theft. There were unauthorized purchases totaling approximately $400. IPD was notified and the incident is under investigation.
