Turnovers come back to hurt the Storm late a close 76-74 loss in overtime.

Simpson looked to stop the 14-5 (6-2) Beavers who are tied with Wartburg at second place in the IIAC standings. They are coming off a two game winning streak while the Storm were looking to bounce back after theier disappointing loss to Coe Saturday.

Hennings leads all scorers at half with 17 and continues to dominate the game early shooting nearly perfect from the field going 8-9.

Storm come out with their foot on the pedal and are able to extend the lead by six making it 40-34 with 16:30 left in the second half.

Back to back turnovers hurt the Storm, as the Beavers are able to take the lead 56-53 with 6:30 left in the half.

A clutch shot by Bentley helped the Storm to tie the game at 63 a piece with less than 2:00 left in regulation.

With less than 30 seconds left in the game the Storm commit a crucial turnover that leads to a fast break bucket for the Beavers put them up two, 65-63. But Elijah Knox answers back with a clutch layup with 4.2 left in the game sending it into overtime.

Buena Vista is able to keep the streak going into overtime and capitalized off of the Storms mistakes with a 76-74 victory.

“It’s the little things that we have been focusing on,” said Head Coach Charles Zanders. “Our intensity is great and we are coming out with pride and playing together.”

After a career high performance by Hennings, he was optimistic about the future games.

“The best thing to remember is that we are still in the running for the tournament,” said Hennings. “We have come together and played as a team well, and we are definitely growing and coming together well.”

The Storm are still in the hunt for a playoff position and will look to capitalize off these next games.

“Even with the loss tonight, we are steady making steps forward,” said senior Elijah Knox. “That was the best team in conference and we stayed with them.”
