United States: Death row inmate willing to donate organs
Forty-year-old Ronald Phillips, a man scheduled for execution this week in Columbus, Ohio, is hoping to donate organs to his mother and sister.
Phillips’ mother is on dialysis and his sister suffers heart issues. Phillips’ lawyers said he’s also open to donating organs to other people.
His death sentence was because he raped and killed his girlfriend’s daughter back in 1993.
Iowa: Brenton Skating Plaza opens
Downtown Des Moines is preparing for festivities and people can begin celebrating a little earlier this year. Brenton Skating Plaza, the only outdoor ice skating rink in Des Moines, is opening on Thursday, Nov. 14.
According to officials, the cool temperatures have allowed them to open a week earlier. Attendants on opening night can donate to the Annual Food Drive by bringing non-perishable food items. Admission and skate rental on opening night is only $5 and the rink opens at 5:00 p.m.

Student Government Association (SGA) allocated $1,080 for Simpson Shooting Sports Club.
Religious Life Community (RLC) and Smith Chapel are remodeling a room in the chapel’s basement. The renovation includes pillows for meditation, markings on the wall, wooden floor additions, ceiling replacements and repainting of the room. With one opposition, SGA allocated $3,000 for RLC.
Peppermint flavor is coming to Millie’s and efforts to make dietary information public in Pfeiffer Dining Hall are continuing.
