Women’s tennis splits Saturday double header

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Simpson started off Saturday’s doubleheader against a Coe team on a 6-match winning streak. The Kohawks rode this momentum to a 9-0 victory over the Storm Saturday.

Coe (7-0) won all matches in convincing fashion, with Simpson’s Megan Bradley being the only Storm player winning even 4 games.

Cassidy Bierbrodt lost her first singles match of the season and her early career at Simpson.

Later in the afternoon, Simpson welcomed NAIA, Morningside College. Simpson rebounded and won a close 5-4 match, in which Simpson swept in doubles and Bradley and Bierbrodt both earned singles victories.

Simpson’s split brought their overall record to .500 at 4-4 while falling to 1-2 in IIAC play.

After 6 straight matches at home, Simpson finally goes on the road as they head to Cornell College at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
