INDIANOLA, IA – Women’s Tennis suffered a 5-1 loss to the Grand View Vikings Thursday, in a match that was shortened by early showers.

Teams typically play a best out of nine match format, although with three more singles matches remaining and with Grand View already notching a match clinching 5 wins, play was ended.

Grand View (0-0) started off their season Thursday, taking all three doubles matches over Simpson, (4-8, 4-8, 4-8).  Simpson (3-3) only managed to win one of the three singles matches played on the afternoon.

Junior, Kelli Ehrhardt continued her strong season by improving to (5-1) singles record with a commanding (6-3, 6-1) victory.

Freshman, Cassidy Bierbrodt, who graduated from Clarke High School in Osceola, Iowa like teammate Ehrhardt, was well on her way to a (5-0) singles record before the rain stopped her at (6-0, 5-4) lead.

It’s a quick turn-around for the women’s team as they jump into a Saturday doubleheader beginning with Coe College at 9 a.m. and finishing with Morningside University at 2 p.m.
