INDIANOLA, Iowa – Goals by Louis Joslyn and Mitchell White gave Simpson a 2-0 win over Illinois Wesleyan Friday in a game played at the Indianola Middle School.

Marcus Varnum sent a beautiful set piece that Louis Joslyn headed into the back of the net for a Simpson (6-3) 1-0 lead in the 23th minute.

After controlling Illinois Wesleyan (4-5) and the pace of the game for the net 62 minutes of play, Mitchell White tacked onto the lead, sending an acrobat header over the Titan goalkeeper to make it 2-0 in the 85th minute.  Cody Jacobson contributed with the assist.

With the goal, White enters into a tie for first with Angel Salcido (2002-2005) for career goals with 36. With the scoring record likely causing some pressure on the Senior forward from Decorah, White had been on a five-game scoring drought before netting one Friday.

Louis Joslyn’s goal is his 4th game-winning goal of the year for the Junior.

Zach McEntee recorded his second shutout of the season, making three saves on the evening. Simpson outshot the Titans 13-11, and lead Illinois Wesleyan six to four in corner kicks as well.

The Storm will look to make it a winning streak on Sunday as they host UW-Whitewater at 1 p.m. This game will be back at Bill Buxton Stadium.
