Storm volleyball rally after losing 1st set to take 3-1 win over Iowa Wesleyan

MOUNT PLEASANT, IA – The Storm (3-2) entered play Thursday coming off a 2-2-road trip in Colorado Springs, Colo., looking to go above .500 on the year as they battled the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers (0-5).

After dropping a closely contested 1st set, (24-26), the Storm never looked back winning the final three sets (25-18, 25-21, 25-15) to take a 3-1 win. The Storm outdid the Tigers all across the board, earning 76.5 points to the Tigers 43.0.

Tabitha Blaser lead the way for Simpson with 15 points, followed closely by Torey Buenger with 14.5, and Oliva Suientic with 12.5. As a team, Simpson racked up a kills percentage of .194, nearly a .100 points better than Iowa Wesleyan’s .099

Simpson continues non-conference play next Monday as they go to Oskaloosa for a match against William Penn University. William Penn currently stands at 2-6 on the season. Simpson beat the Lady Statesmen in 4 sets last season. The start time for the match on Monday is 7:30 p.m. (CST).
