Simpson headed up to Mount Vernon to take on past IIAC opponent, Cornell College, Wednesday.

The Rams began their welcome by taking two of three from Simpson in doubles. Cornell followed, clinching the win by taking five out of six in singles for a 7-2 win, improving to 9-2 on the season.

The Storm (4-5) got their only individual victories from Cassidy Bierbrodt, who is putting together a sparkling freshman season. Bierbrodt beat Cornell’s Anne Seng (6-0, 6-1) and then joined Megan Bradley in doubles, defeating Seng and Katie Mintle 8-5 in doubles.

The women’s tennis team will head back to Indianola as they host IIAC play against Buena Vista on Sept. 20 at 2 p.m.
