Simpson cross country runs in 4th annual Augustana Twilight meet

SIOUX FALLS, SD – Men’s and women’s cross country teams ran in the 4th annual, “Augustana Twilight” meet, hosted by Augustana College on Friday night.

Simpson men combined to finish 14/22 on the evening with a final average time of 20:27.24. Other schools involved included: University of Nebraska, finishing 1st on the evening, and the University of South Dakota who finished right behind Nebraska in second place.

Junior Nick Yaeger finished higher than any other Simpson men’s runner, placing 50th out of the 287 who ran in the men’s heat.

On the women’s side, Simpson notched an 11/22 finish with an average time of 18:24.77 on the 3-mile course. University of the South Dakota lead the way in 1st, followed by the University of Nebraska in 2nd.

Freshman Sadie Timms put out another great performance Friday, finishing 38th out of 266 women runners. Her final time was 17:25.28.

Simpson Cross Country doesn’t return to action until Sept. 19, as they run in the Grand View Viking Invitation in Des Moines, IA.
