Simpson (2-1) got contributions up and down the lineup tonight as they ran away with a 4-0 victory over the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves (0-2).

Louis Joslyn got the Storm started off with his first goal of the season coming in the 5^th minute. For the next 64 minutes the Prairie Wolves were able to keep their deficit at 1 despite a one-sided ball control battle in favor of the Storm.

Nebraska Wesleyan threatened in the 67^th minute with an opportunity to tie the game on a penalty kick. Goalkeeper Zach McEntee made a diving deflection of the attempt, which seemingly took the wind out of the Nebraska Wesleyan sails.

Minutes later, Mitchell White scored on a penalty kick of his own, marking his first goal of the season. The score then quickly became 3-0 as Tyler Neumann found Marcus Varnum in the box for a score in transition.

After what seemed to be the final nail in the coffin, Collin Hemann joined the scoring parade, uncorking a 25 yard firecracker that found the back of the net, giving the Storm their fourth goal of the game.

The Storm return to action this weekend as they head to Minnesota for the Concordia-Moorhead Tournament (Sep. 6 – 7). Their first game is against UW-Superior at 2 p.m. (CST).

Game Notes:

Nebraska Wesleyan is still yet to score a goal this season with a 0-7 scoring margin after two games.

With Mitchell White’s goal tonight, White moves within 1 goal of the all-time goal record (36) at Simpson College held by Angel Salcido (2002-2005).
