Track & field meets at the Jim Duncan Invitational

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Simpson men’s and women’s track and field team got a chance to run at the Drake Stadium on Friday and Saturday.

Schools from Division I, II, III and NAIA levels are partook in the invitational in which no team results were recorded.

Schools included: Drake University, Iowa State University, the University of South Dakota, the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Central College, the University of Iowa, Grinnell College, Graceland College, Cardinal Stritch University, Northwest Missouri State University, William Penn University, Truman State University and Creighton University among many others.

Men’s Track & Field:

Dylan Kalinay had the highest finish for the Storm, placing second with a time of 15.24, only .44 second in the 110-meter hurdles behind Iowa State’s Logan Schneider who took first.

Isaac Frazier took ninth in the event with a time of 16.16.

Kalinay raced his way to another good result, taking 13th in the 100-meter dash amongst a field of 38 runners. Kalinay recorded a time of 11.28.

Junior Nick Yaeger ran a 9:32.00 to finish fourth in the men’s 3000-meter steeplechase.

Women’s Track & Field:

Bayler Fleshner recorded another Top-10 finish for Simpson, coming in the 100-meter hurdles. The senior reached the finish line in 15.53 to take 6th.

The quartet of Fleshner, Lauren Martin, Sarah Ney and Sarah Galbraith finished the 4×400-meter relay in 50.11 to take seventh.
