WAVERLY, Iowa – Simpson College men’s golf finished 3rd/11 teams at the Wartburg Spring Invitational in Waverly on Friday and Saturday, shooting 627 as a team to finish behind first place Kirkwood Community College (604) and second place Nebraska Wesleyan University (606).

Senior Andy Hutchins shot a 156 to finish tied for ninth in a field of 55 golfers. Hutchins was 14 strokes behind the pace, set by Kirkwood’s Eddie Doyle who finished first.

Trent Lindenman was tied for fifth after day one with a 77, and went on to finish tied for 12th with a 157, just one stroke behind Hutchins.
