Six movies about pandemics to binge-watch during a pandemic

When in Rome, right? While in the midst of this global pandemic, what better way is there to embrace it than quarantining in your room and binge-watching movies that give off the same feeling that the year 2020 has so far.

“Outbreak” (1995) 

This medical disaster film includes an airborne virus that endangers an entire town in California. Rated R

“Contagion” (2011)

This one might be too close to home. A businesswoman dies soon after she returns from a business trip in Hong Kong. Unbeknownst to her doctors, a global pandemic will soon erupt because of it. Rated PG-13

“28 Days Later” (2002)

An infected animal gets loose from a medical research lab. Soon after an outbreak leads to a zombie apocalypse, where the main character wakes up from a coma a month after a majority of the human race is wiped-out. Rated R

“Little Monsters” (2019)

If you’re looking for a horror/comedy movie, this one’s for you. A kindergarten teacher and a degenerate musician fight off a sudden outbreak of zombies in order to protect a group of children. Rated R

Five college students try to survive a flesh-eating virus while stuck in a secluded cabin. Rated R

“World War Z” (2013)

When a United Nations investigator and his family are stuck in the city when a lethal virus erupts, it’s up to him to lead a worldwide hunt for the source and, hopefully, the cure. Rated PG-13
