Kent Campus Center door cracks

Around 10:15 a.m. Friday, passersby heard a pop, and the inside door of the east entrance to Kent Campus Center was cracked. Chris Frerichs, director of security, said he does not know how the door was cracked, but it has since been replaced.

Some people speculate that the temperature change from early to late morning caused the glass to shatter.

Junior Lauren Beckman and her friends were sitting on the couches by the entrance when the door shattered.

“Suddenly and randomly there was a pop sound and the glass simultaneously cracked all over the window pane,” said Beckman, who then called security, and they proceeded to block off the area.
